Samsung Display comprises the display panel manufacturing operations of its parent and is tasked with producing LCD panels for TVs, PC tablets, notebooks, and monitors. The company also makes LCD panels for large-scale outdoor advertising displays. It produces its panels at three sites in Korea and at two overseas manufacturing plants in China and Slovakia. One of the largest manufacturers of its kind, Samsung Display has been in operation since 1991, when it was set up as the research and development arm of Samsung Electronics.
